The song “Mi Alma” was born from the purest feeling — that state of being in love when your soul begins to sing.
"Mi alma canta" — “My soul sings” — the lyrics say, and that line captures it all. The world becomes brighter, and you begin to notice every smile, every flower, every ray of sunshine.
We wanted to convey that feeling — to create a music video where the heroine experiences just such a morning, just such a day: when you are loved, and happiness overflows.
That’s why the concept for the video was built around a simple yet magical story — like a tiny Disney fairytale brought to life.
The choice of location was obvious: Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
This city feels like it was made for fairytales — narrow, historic streets, brightly colored houses, tropical greenery, bustling markets, and smiling locals.
Even the air there feels different — warm, oceanic, and filled with the scent of flowers. Cartagena gave us that perfect Caribbean vibe: a sense of joy, freedom, and soulful warmth.
And it was here, amidst all the vivid colors and glowing light, that we decided to bring our “Disney” dream to life.
Preparations for the shoot started long before the trip:
A fun fact: many creative decisions were made on the go — for instance, wardrobe discussions happened right on the airplane. We searched for inspiration in every detail so the entire video would carry the spirit of a modern-day fairytale.
Finding the perfect dress was a story in itself.
We visited countless shops, trying dozens of options — looking for something airy and light, but not overly elaborate. Then, by chance, while shopping for shoes, we saw a simple white dress. It felt like the embodiment of purity and sincerity. It was a bit long, so we took the risk and had it shortened — and it turned out perfect.
The bow — a key accessory — took time to choose too. We settled on a soft pink one, which beautifully complemented the airy look.
And the apron for the flower shop scene? We searched everywhere — even in unexpected places (including adult stores, which now makes us laugh). In the end, a simple green apron did the job just right.
The story begins with the heroine waking up in a dreamy room. She walks through the streets of Cartagena to her job at a flower shop, making beautiful bouquets and spreading joy.
The plot is as simple as a morning dream — and that’s its strength: to show that happiness is found in the little things.
Some locations were found in advance, others spontaneously:
One more beautiful location — an old office building with wooden railings and a sunlit hallway — we found completely by accident while searching for a different spot.
As always in creative work, some unexpected things happened:
The video turned out exactly how we dreamed:
light, tender, heartfelt, and real.
"Mi Alma" is not just a love song — it's a story about seeing the light, the simplicity, and the joy in everyday life.
We wanted every viewer to feel — even for a moment — like they’ve stepped into this warm, sincere, sun-drenched world.
And we think... we made it happen.
